...and Comex, Tocom, LBMA etc., implode, how will we be able to find/look up/determine the prices of our Au, Ag, Pt, Pd? Right now, everyone is pretty much on the same page regarding PM values. In the Freegold future, where will the price determination come from? Ebay? Bigger dealers? Local dealers? Barter? International agreement?

Oh I got the answer here

As I have explained many times, freegold and hyperinflation are separate events. Freegold is the establishment of a physical gold market after the paper gold market is arrested through default, breaking the dollar's grip on gold, and also breaking the dollar's international settlement function. The first way this collapse could play out is a quick devaluation of the dollar, say, over a couple weeks, followed by the emergence of freegold. Think of it as the riverbed at the bottom of the waterfall.
The second and more likely way this will play out is with hyperinflation thrown in, perhaps lasting many months or years after the initial plunge/devaluation. The overwhelming evidence that this will be our path is the political control the Executive Branch is exercising over dollar monetary policy.
but it has been pretty quiet in here lately.
Exceedingly so.......
Is everybody just too busy 'earning a quid' and preparing for/surviving the 'apocollapse'?
Or just too much 'American Idle' and 'let them eat Ipads'?
Its really odd to experience, but as N.Hemisphere summer comes in, folks are around less on the web... So yes its quiet but that doesnt mean that folks arent browsing. In many ways, the feeling is of levitation - but its very hard to see how far the ground is away, or how fast we're falling. I get the feeling that people are holding thier breath and waiting.

Like Gandalf said to Pippin,'Its the deep breath before the plunge, the silence before the storm'.
If we follow sentiment seasonality, the first cracks of thunder will be mid september...

In the ERA of RPG, is there a need for financial industry? I personally do not think so. If you have a surplus and you want to save it, you will go out and buy gold and let the gold lie idle/still until you need it again. Who really needs the financial planners? I however do see a possible need for a stock market.
But what is the collective opinion on here?
Stock market = casino of financial industry.
One goes hand in hand with the other.

A branch of the Rothschild banking dynasty, in a JV with the World Gold Council, took a 12.5 per cent stake in Bullion Vault about a year ago. BV uses a bid and offer system to match buyers and sellers. GoldMoney acts as a market maker ie. they post the buy and sell price. From a technology and structural perspective, the Perth Mint seems to be well placed to offer either or both options if they choose to do so.
I tend to agree with CGV on a 'macro' scale - the BIS (and Central Banks as part of their currency management regime).
Cheers
Now that is an interesting development, and once again an indication of why you should have physical.

Gold has always been the most political metal our world has ever known; political because it offers
so much power to those that hold it in their hand. Many of the downtrodden look at government
policies and say:-----"they dictate our wealth and put us in debt so as to control us"! -------
Conversely; A simple person can control his controllers by staying out of debt and owning a wealth
no government can dictate the value of: Gold Bullion!GOLD:
-- value it with official contracts and currencies and your wealth is their power ,,,,,,,,,, keep it as your savings of ages,,, and your wealth becomes their master!

Electronic 24/7 market established by the market maker, the BIS.
My 2cents.
Nice to see you're still here.
I would prefer engaging with others here myself, but it has been pretty quiet in here lately. Just the odd lemon thrower.
You see in this [paradigm] there's two kinds of people my friend - those with loaded guns, and those who dig.
